The Crown of Purity

The Crown of Purity is an ancient and immensely powerful relic, rumored to be created from a fragment of reality during the Riving, whose form shifts to match its bearer. In the last days of the Drankorian Empire, it was part of Apollyon’s imperial regalia and a focus for his dominion over the people of Drankor. After his fall it passed out of sight.

In the years after the Great War, the Crown resurfaced in Chardon, still tied to Apollyon’s purpose. It came to be controlled by the cult known as The Cleansed, who used the crown to enthrall and command those they deemed impure, including forcing numerous Chardonians to serve Fausto. Through the crown’s magic, The Cleansed were able to infiltrate and control the Hetaeri Magica and the Society of the Open Scroll, key organizations in Chardon’s magical establishment.

In DR 1749, upon Fausto’s death, it was claimed by the Dunmar Fellowship. After much debate, it was eventually taken by Riswynn to aid in her quest to free more orcs from Thark. Upon learning how to control its magic from the Cloudspinner, its appearance changed again, reflecting a new bearer and purpose.
